[] FORMAT
Format internal memory or a
memory card. If a memory
card is inserted in the cam-
era, I_ will be displayed in
the dialog shown at right
=rt_ FORMAT OK?
and this option will format the memory card. If no
memory card is inserted, I_1 will be displayed and
this option will format internal memory. Pressthe
selector left to highlight OK and press MENU/OIl t o
begin formatting.
[M Cautions
• All data--including protected pictures--will be de-
leted. Be sure important files have been copied to a
computer or other storage device.
• Do not open the battery cover during formatting.
[] AUTO POWER OFF
Choose the length of time before the camera
turns off automatically when no operations are
performed. Shorter times increase battery life; if
OFF is selected, the camera must be turned off
manually. Note that regardless of the option se-
lected, the camera will not turn off automatically
when connected to a printer (pg. 53) or computer
(pg. 62) or when a slide show is in progress (pg.
77).
%.Tip:Reactivating t heCamera
To reactivate the camera after it has turned off auto-
matically, use the ON/OFF switch or pressthe [] but-
ton for about a second (pg. 13).
