Cleaning the Nozzle and Venturi Assembly
A cleannozzleand venturiis neededfor the watersoftening systemto workproperly. T his small unit makes the
suction to move bnne from the sah storage area to the resin tank during regeneration.
Ifit becomes plugged
_dth sand, (rift, etc., the water softening system will not work and you _dll get hard water.
To get to the nozzle and venmri, remove the water softening system top cover. Be sure the water softening
system is in serdce _Tcle (no water pressure at nozzle and venmri). Then, while holding the nozzle and
venmri h{)using with one hand, rem{)ve the cap. I,ifl out the soeen support and screen, then the nozzle
and venmri. Wash and rinse the parts in w,um water until clean. If needed, use a small brush to rem_)ve
iron or dirt. Also check and clean the gasket.
NOTE." S ome models have a small flow plug located in the nozzle and venmri, and/or
a small cone shaped
s(reen in the housing. Be sure to (heck and (lean these parts, if your model is so equipped.
( areflflly replace all parts in the correct order. I Jghtly lubricate the o-ring seal xdth clean silicone grease or
peuoleumjelly
and pla(e in position. Install and tighten the cap, by hand only. Do not over-tighten the cap.

IMPORTAN# Be sure small holes in flTegasket are centered directly
over the small holes in the nozzle and venturi housing.
*install with numbered side up, concave side down.
