Using the gas surface burners.
Throughout this manual, features and appearance may vary from your model.

Push the control knob in and turn
it to the LifE position.
How to Light a Gas Surface
Burner
Pushthe control knob in and turn itto the
LITE position.
You wilt hear a little clicking noise-the
sound of the electric spark igniting the
burner.
After the flame lights, turn the knob to
adjust the flame size. Ifthe knob stays at
LifE, it will continue to click.
When one burner isturned to LIT& all the
burnersspark. Donot attempt to
disassembleor clean around any burner
while another burner is on,An electricshock
may result,which could causeyou to knock
over hot cookware.
Sealed Gas Burners
The smaller burner Iright rear position) will
give the best simmer results for delicate
foods, such as sauces or foods which need
to cook over low heat for a long time. It can
be turned down to a very tow setting.
The largest burners are higher powered
than the others and will bring Iiquids to
a boil quicker.
How to Select Name Size
For safe handling of cookware, never let the
flames extend up the sides of the cookware.
Watch the flame, not the knob, as you
reduce heat. The flame size on a gas burner
should match the cookware you are using.
Any flame larger than the bottom of the
cookware is wasted and only serves to heat
the handle.
tn case of Power Failure
In case of a power failure, you can light the
gas surface burners on your range with a
match. Hold a lit match to the burner, then
push in and turn the control knob to the
Life position. Use extreme caution when
lighting burners this way.
Surface burners in use when an eIectricai
power failure occurs wilt continue to
operate normally.
Before Lighting
a Gas Burner
Make sureall grates on the range are in
place beforeusingany burner.
After Lighting
a Gas Burner

extended periodof time without
cookwareon the grate,Thefinish on the
grate may chip without cookwareto
absorbthe heat.
_i_ Be sure the burners and grates are cool
before you place your hand, o pot holder,
cleaning cloths or other materials on
them.
