Edging AlongACurb
Theright rearwheelof theedgercanbeloweredintooneof five positions to ease
the taskof edgingalongacurb.Toadjustthe heightof curbwheel,proceed as
follows:
Lower the right rearwheelbymovingthecurbheightadjustment l ever
slightlyto the left. See Figure11.

ofthe curbto beedgedalong.

Inordertoachieve a bevelled edge, s etthe bevel a djustmentlever(referto
Assembly S ection) i nthe first (left hand)or third(righthand)notchto placethe
edgerbladein positionfor beveling.See Figure 12.

Trenching
Youcanutilizethe edger's optionaltrenching featurein orderto create a wider
cutting pathforsuchthingsaslayingwirefor landscape lighting.
Disconnect the sparkplugwire andground againstthe engine before
performing the following steps.
Theedgerbladeissharp.Wearleatherwork glovesto protectyour hands
when working around the edgerblade.
Use two wrenches ( onewrench to preventhexbolt head from spinning and
the otherto unthreadtheflangenut) to remove flangenut thatsecures
edgerblade,leaving the edgerbladein place. S eeFigure 13.

Secure with the flangenut removed earlier. U se a torquewrenchtotighten
the flangenut to between37foot-lbs,and50foot-lbs.
NOTE: Makecertainthat drivebelt isseated correctlyon bladespindleandthat it
isridingsmoothlyon spindlesheaves ( seeFigure 21)andis not pinched between
them. Repeat f irst threestepsif beltis pinched.
