Authentication Failure in EAP Mode: Authentication fails when
set to the EAP mode, even though there are no problems with wireless
communication in the Open or WPA-PSK modes.
• A log indicating the authentication errors is recorded in the RADIUS
server log.
• 'Fail (EAP-TLS + TKIP)' is indicated in the Authentication Status field
of the Network Summary.
Possible Cause
The access point setting is
incorrect.
The RADIUS server is
incorrect.
The printer EAP user name
setting is incorrect.
The client certificate
imported into the printer is
incorrect.
The authentication method
does not coincide with the
RADIUS server.
Suggested Solution(s)
Check the access point settings, and then set
them correctly.
Examples of the settings that need to be checked:
• Network settings (The IP address, subnet mask,
and default gateway have been set correctly.)
• EAP settings (The IP address of the RADIUS
server, port number, shared secret, etc. have
been set correctly.)
• Encryption mode setting (It have been set to
TKIP.)
Check the RADIUS server settings, and then set
them correctly.
Examples of the settings that need to be checked:
• Authenticator (access point) settings (The IP
address of the access point, the authorized
authentication mode, the shared secret, etc.
have been set correctly.)
• EAP settings (The EAP user name, certificate,
etc. have been set correctly.)
Check the EAP user name with the network
administrator and correct the printer setting.
Have the network administrator distribute a
certificate corresponding to the EAP user name
that can be authenticated on the RADIUS server
and then import it into the printer.
Change the RADIUS server setting and set the
EAP-TLS authentication to Active.
