You can choose the type of movie to shoot. The higher the image size and bit rate,
the higher the image quality, but the file size also becomes larger.

Press the multi selector _ or i_ to choose the
movie type.
• The maximum movie length for the selected movie
type is displayed.
• Items can also be chosen by rotating the main
command dial.

Movies with an aspect ratioof 16:9are recorded.
(default setting)
• Movie bitrate:9 Mbps
Movies with an aspect ratioof 4:3are recorded.
vG_ VGA (640x480)
• Movie bitrate:3 Mbps
Movies with an aspect ratio of 4:3are recorded.
QVGA(320x240)
• Movie bitrate:640 kbps
• The movie bitrate is the volume of movie data recorded per second. As a
variable bitrate (VBR)system has been adopted, the movie recording rate varies
automatically according to the subject so that more data is recorded per
second for movies containing frequently moving subjects, thus increasing
movie file size.
• The frame rates are approximately
24 frames per second (fps) for HD 720p
(1280x720)
and 30 frames per second (fps) for VGA (640x480)
or QVGA
(320x240).
