Paper may be jammed in the
paper path.
A single sheet does not feed properly from the manual feed
slot.
Cause
Paper is curled or folded.
The paper may be too thick
or too thin to be fed.
Continuous paper may be left
in the paper path.
The paper-release lever is set
to the wrong position.
The single sheet is not loaded
deeply enough.
Turn off the printer and open the
printer cover using the notch on the
cover; then gently pull out the paper
by turning the knob toward you.
Remove any remaining pieces of
paper. See "Clearing a paper jam" on
page 10-23.
What to do
Use flat, non-damaged paper.
See "Technical Specifications" in
Appendix C.
Remove the continuous paper.
Make sure that the paper-release lever
is set to the single-sheet position. See
page 3-2 (Windows) or 5-2
(Macintosh).
Load a single sheet into the manual
feed slot until it meets resistance.
