Preventingdata onthe internal memoryof the
camcorderfrom beingrecovered(HDR-UX20)
[{_) EMPTY] allows you to write
unintelligible data onto tile internal memory
of tile camcorder, ht this way, it may
become more difficult to recover any
original data.
When you dispose of or transfer tile
camcorder to others, it is recommended that
you perform [{_ EMPTY].
O Notes
• It you perform 1_] EMPTY J,all the images on
the inlernal memory are deleled. To avoid the
loss of important inlages, they should be saved
on other device or olher media before
perlbrming [_IEM_YI (p. 61, 63, 105).
•
You cannot perform [_ EMPTYI unless you
connect the AC Adaptor to the wall ouflel (wall
socket).
• Disconnecl all cables excepl file AC Adaplor,
• While perlorming [(_] EMPTYI, do not apply
any vibrations or shocks to your camcorder.

Connect the AC Adaptor to the
DC IN jack on your camcorder
and the wall outlet (wall socket).
Turn on your camcorder.

Touch _ (HOME) -_
(MANAGE MEDIA) -_ [MEDIA
FORMAT] -_ [INT. MEMORY].
Tile confirm:dion screen of tile
formatting tile internal memory appears.

Press and hold [] (back light)
(p. 141).
The [_,1 EMPTY ]screen appears.
5 Touch [YES] -* [YES].

When [Completed.] appears,
touch I_KI.
