Finalizing makes tile recorded disc cmnpatible for playback with other devices and DVD
drives of computers.
Before finalizing, you can select a type of DVD menu that enables you to select a particular
scene (p. 75).
Discsrecordedwith HD (high definition) image quality
Discs of all kinds shouhl be finalized.
Discsrecordedwith SD (standard definition) image quality
• Fin:dize DVD-R/DVD+R DL/DVD-RW.
• Finalize DVD+RW in the following cases:
To create the DVD menu
To playback ill the DVD drives of c()mputers
Recorded time is short 15 minutes or less ill HQ mode_ 8 minutes or less ill SP mode and 15
minutes or less in LP mode)
O Notes
• Playback compatibility with all device is not guaranteed.
• Only the dexices compatible with the AVCHD lormat can play the discs recorded with HD (high
definition) image qualily (p. 76). Cunently available DVD devices cannot play lhese discs.
• In the case ol SD (standard definition) image quality, a DVD menu is created instead ol a disc menu.
