Troubleshooting
If you experience any of the following difficulties while
using the player, use this troubleshooting guide to help
you remedy the problem. Should any problem persist,
consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Thereisno sound.
,,,_Check that the player is connected securely.
,,_Make sure you operate the amplifier correctly.
The CDdoes not play.
,,,_There is no CD in a slot ("-NO DISC-"
appears).
Insert a CD.
,,,_Insert the CD with the label side facing right.
,,_Clean the CD (see page 32).
,,,_Moisture has condensed inside the player. Open
the front cover and leave the player turned on
for about an hour (see page 32).
Theremotedoesnot function.
,,,_Remove obstacles in the path of the remote and
the player.
,,,_Point the remote at the remote sensor m on the
player.
,,,_Replace all the batteries in the remote with new
ones if they are weak.
"_Set the CD 1/2/3 switch on the remote
according to the position of the COMMAND
MODE selector displayed in the front panel
display (see page 5}.
Theplayerfunctions incorrectly.
,,,_The microcomputer chips may be operating
incorrectly. Disconnect the AC power cord, then
connect it back to the wall outlet to reset the
player.
