ASSEMBLY
UPPERHANDLEAND CRANKASSEMBLY
1. Loosen, b utdo not remove thescrews, f latwashers, Iockwashers, and
hexnutsin theupperholesof thelowerhandle (seeFigure4).
2. Remove t hefasteners a ndthecrankassembly eyeboltfromthelower
holesofthe lowerhandle.
3. Raise upperhandleintooperating position.Upperhandle shouldbeto
theoutsideof thelowerhandle.
NOTE: Makesurethecables arenotcaughtbetween theupperand
lowerhandle.
4. Installthefasteners andthecrank assembly eyebolt t hatwereremoved
in step2. DONOT tightenuntil all fasteners a re in place.
5. Attachthecrankrod (A, Figure5) to theuniversal j ointassembly (B)
with thehair pin (C).
6. Tightennuton eyebolt. Makesureeyebolt is properlyaligned andthe
crankcanfreelyrotate(seeFigure4).
7. Tighten all handlebolts.
NOTE: Makesurecrankdoesnottouchcarburetor c over.

1. If controlcables havebecome unattached f rom motormountframe,re-
connect c ables asshownin Figure6.
2. Forcableadjustments, see"CheckandAdjusttheCables"in the
MAINTENANCE section.
SET THE LENGTH OF THE CABLES
Thetractiondriveandaugerdrivecables(AandB, Figure6) wereadjusted
atthefactoryandno adjustments s houldbenecessary. However, afterthe
handles areput in theoperating position,thecables canbetootight or too
loose.If anadjustment i s necessary, see"CheckandAdjusttheCables"in
theMAINTENANCE section.
