If you experience a problem with this unit, check the chart below before calling for
service.
SYMPTOM
Unit will not turn on.
Disc will not play.
No sound from
headphones.
Erratic playback.
Radio no sound
Radio reception is
noisy or weak.

CAUSE
Weak or dead
batteries.
CD compartment not
closed.
Disc inserted incorrectly.
Dirty or defective disc.
Moisture or condensation Disc: wipe with soft cloth.

Headphone plug not
inserted correctly.
VOLUME controls set to
minimum.
Weak batteries.
Defective disc.
Dirty or defective disc.
FUNCTION switch is not
set to RADIO position.
FM: Headphone cord is
not extended.

SOLUTION
Replace batteries.
Close CD compartment.
Reinsert disc correctly.
Try another disc.
Lens: see page 15.

Raise volume controls on
main unit and/or headphone
cable.
Replace batteries.
Try another disc.
Clean or replace disc.
Set FUNCTION switch to
RADIO position.
Extend headphone cord
fully.
