Possible Cause
Station not tuned properly for
AM or FM.
The antenna is not positioned
correctly.
The FUNCTION switch is set
to FM position.
FUNCTION switch is not set to Set FUNCTION switch to
RADIO.
Volume at minimum.
FUNCTION switch is not set to Set the FUNCTION switch
to TAPE.
Volume at minimum.
Dirty head.
Tape old or worn.
Dirty roller and capstan.

Solution
Retune the AM or FM
broadcast station.
Reposition the unit until
best reception is obtained.
Set the FUNCTION switch
FM ST. position.
RADIO.
Increase Volume.
TAPE.
Increase Volume.
Clean the head.
Replace the tape.
Clean roller and capstan.
CD.
Insert CD with Iabel side
up.
Wipe disc with cloth or use
another disc.
