4.1.2 Platen Gap Adjustment

If you have rotated or reassembled the SHAFT, CR, GUIDE or the adjusting bushing, or if printing is
abnormal, you must adjust the gap between the PLATEN and the printhead.
I Remove the PRINTER MECHANISM from the HOUSING ASSY., LOWER (see Section 3.2.4).
2. Remove the printhead from the carriage (see Section 3.2. 1).
3. Use tweezers to remove the RIBBON MASK from the carriage.

Remount the printhead on the carriage.

5. Set the paper-thickness LEVER, G, ADJUST to position O (the second step position).

6. Move the LEVER, RELEASE back to the friction setting.
Move the carriage until the edge of the printhead is at the 5th column print position.

Use the box driver (7 mm) to rotate the adjusting bushing on the FRAME, MAIN, RIGHT of the PRINTER
MECHANISM.
