Troubleshooting
If your IDXPERT
Handheld Labeler is not performing as documented in this user's manual, use the
TM
following troubleshooting and error message guides to determine the corrective action you should
take. If the corrective action does not work, contact Brady's Technical Support Group.

Troubleshooting Guide

Symptom
Poor quality printing.
Printer does not
power up when
turned on.
Printer will not feed
labels.
The printer is not
reading the smart-cell
label format settings
of a newly inserted
cartridge.

Cause
The printhead and platen
roller are dirty.
Battery power is low.
Dead Batteries
The leading edge of the
media roll is uneven or
torn (not a straight edge).
Battery power is low.
The cartridge you just
installed is different than
the previous cartridge.
The printer is retaining
the label format settings
from the previous
cartridge.
Corrective Action
Clean the printer. See Cleaning on page
27.
Replace batteries.
Replace batteries.
Use a pair of scissors to cut a straight
leading edge on the marker roll.
Replace batteries.
