Can I Remove and Reattach A USB Drive
Yes, any USB drive that has been attached to the Server:
•
To increase storage capacity of the Server
or
•
To back up files
If a USB drive is removed can be reattached.
NOTE:
If while the drive was unattached and filers were added to that drive these files will not available
when it is reattached to the Server. The space occupied by these files will remain unavailable but
the Server will not see data.
What Happens if a USB Drive Becomes Unattached
A USB drive has been successfully added to the "Servers Backup Hard Drives" or "Storage
Hard Drives" can become unattached to the Server. Some of the reasons a working USB drive
might be unattached:
•
The USB Drive loses its Power Supply.
•
The USB cable comes loose from the drive or Server.
Verify that your USB Drive has power and the Cable connecting the drive to the server is firmly
seated.
