1 Introduction

Verifying Contents

Unpack and verify the contents of the shipping box against the Contents
Checklist included with your HP NetServer LXr Pro8 SCSI Extender board. If
anything is missing or damaged, call your reseller. The contents of the shipping
box should include:
The SCSI Extender assembly, which includes the SCSI Extender board,
Power and Control board, fan wire harness, and the SCSI Extender tray.
This assembly will be referred to as the SCSI Extender in this document.
The anti-static container in which the SCSI Extender is packaged
The HP NetServer LXr Pro8 SCSI Extender Installation Guide
CAUTION Whenever you handle the SCSI Extender, you should do so in
an anti-static environment. Grasp the tray by its edges and
avoid touching its components. Always place the SCSI
Extender component-side-up on its anti-static pad when you
set it down.
