192 Continuous Access Journal Z GUI reference
Description
The consistency time of an EXCTG. For example, if the consistency time is 10:00 a.m., S-VOLs
in the EXCTG are synchronized with the P-VOLs that were available as of 10:00 a.m.
The consistency time appears in the following format:
month/date/year/hour/minute/second
For the number of seconds, the number before and after the decimal point appears.
In this column, the phrase Time is not consistent appears if secondary volumes in active journals
in the EXCTG do not have the same time stamp. For example, when a new journal is added to
the EXCTG, Time is not consistent appears if the time stamp of a S-VOL in this journal is newer
than the time stamp of S-VOLs in the existing journals.
Notes:
To maintain data update sequence, Cnt Ac-J Z performs arbitration processing on journals
in Active status only. Cnt Ac-J Z does not perform arbitration processing on journals in Stopped
status.
There is no time stamp appears in this column for an extended journal containing journals,
if an initial copy operation is performed when hosts do not issue any I/O request.
Underflow or Overflow appears in this column if an invalid time stamp is detected. If
Underflow appears, the time stamp is below the allowable range. If Overflow appears, the
time stamp is above the allowable range.
The consistency time is valid only for the updates on the Cnt Ac-J Z pairs in Duplex status.
When the data of the Cnt Ac-J Z pair that is in other than Duplex status is updated, the
consistency time is not assured. Therefore, even if the journal of the Cnt Ac-J Z pair that shares
the volume with BC Z or Cnt Ac-S Z is registered to the EXCTG, the consistency time is invalid
if the Cnt Ac-J Z pair is in other than Duplex status or if the BC Z or Cnt Ac-S Z pair is updated.
The consistency time is invalid also when the data is updated without the time stamp from
the host computer.
