Product Features
EDO (Extended Data Out) memory is a new type of memory that boosts
overall access times. It does this by utilizing the clock cycles more
effectively, improving data throughput.
The memory upgrades available are:

The Vectra VE 5/xx series 2 has a BIOS system ROM that uses flash
EEPROM technology. The flash ROM can be updated with the latest BIOS
firmware using the Phlash program (
firmware upgrade. Refer to "Updating the System ROM," on page 37.
The PC has HP's new style BIOS co-developed with Phoenix Technologies.
The system BIOS is identified by the version number GU 05.xx.
The Power-On Self Test (POST) is performed when the PC is started. The
POST displays a graphic screen with the HP Vectra logo. If the POST detects
an error, the error message is displayed and the SETUP program can be run
to check the configuration.
To see the tests performed during the POST, press
logo appears and the display will switch to text mode. In this mode, a
summary configuration screen will be displayed at the end of the POST.
Pressing the PAUSE/BREAK key at any time will allow you to inspect the
screen contents. Press any key to resume.
The HP Vectra VE 5/xx series 2 PC has an integrated SETUP program.
SETUP is started by pressing
