8.3.1

Imaging cartridge (IC) life control

A. New DC detection
• The machine attempts to perform a new IC detection sequence when the power switch is
turned OFF and ON, or the Front door is closed.
• If no new IC is detected, the image stabilization sequence is not carried out.
• If a new IC is detected, the image stabilization sequence is carried out.
• The imaging cartridge shipped with the machine does not have the function to detect a
new IC.
B. Reaching the life
• The life counter is reset when a new IC is detected.
• The machine gives a warning message when the life value is reached (printing will be
continued). When the Waste toner reaches its full level, the initiation of any new print
cycle will be prohibited. The machine then prompts the user to replace the IC.
