16.11. Updater: command line
switches
The list of command line switches available for Up-
dater.
The general format of the updating utility command line is:
./kavupdater update_switch [switch1] [switch2] [...] [switchN]
where:
update_switch is the way to update virus-definition databases;
switchN is the optional command line switch.
The following command line switches are available (the suffix [-] defines the
inverse meaning of the switch):
-ui[k]=server_and_path
downloads virus-definition updates from the defined location. If the op-
tional character k is used in the switch, only new updates will be
downloaded.
-ud[k]=directory
copies databases from the defined directory. If the optional character k
is used in the switch, only new updates will be copied.
-ua[k]=archive
copies databases from the defined archive. If the optional character k is
used in the switch, only new updates will be copied.
-a=path
before performing the updating operation saves the old virus-definition
databases to the defined location.
