3D OCR with AnyPage
Select this to combine 3D OCR and AnyPage technologies to get the best
scanned image and OmniPage Pro's highest recognition accuracy. This
option is only available with supported grayscale scanners.
AnyPage technology automatically determines the optimum brightness
level for each area of text and graphics on a page. 3D OCR retains the
grayscale information of a page image and uses it during recognition to
view individual characters clearly and completely. This combination of
technologies delivers OmniPage Pro's greatest accuracy possible.
Use 3D OCR and AnyPage whenever you want the best possible
recognition results, especially when you scan:
• poor quality pages
• pages with very small type
• pages with text on colored or shaded backgrounds.
3D OCR and AnyPage is slower than other settings. If you scan high-
quality documents with crisp text on a white background, select Manual
Brightness for the fastest results. 3D OCR adds 150 to 250K per page to
the size of the image file. If you are scanning many pages, you may want
to use the Auto Brightness with AnyPage/HP AccuPage or Manual
Brightness setting to save disk space.
Graphics in the text window will be grayscale if 3D OCR with AnyPage
or Auto Brightness with AnyPage/HP AccuPage are selected. Graphics will
be black and white if Manual Brightness is selected.
Auto Brightness with AnyPage/HP AccuPage
Select this to use AnyPage or HP AccuPage technology to get high-
quality scanned images and high recognition accuracy. This option is

The option that appears, AnyPage or HP AccuPage, depends on your

available with all other supported grayscale scanners.
