GroupWise Client to Async Gateway Message Delivery
In Remote mode, the GroupWise Windows client gives users the ability to access their mailboxes
when working away from the main GroupWise system. Each remote GroupWise user has a Master
Mailbox (on the network) and a Remote mailbox. Any work performed in Remote mode is done
offline by the user in his or her remote mailbox, then later exchanged with his or her Master
Mailbox at home. Communication is enabled through the Async Gateway and a modem
connection.
This diagram of the message delivery between a user using the GroupWise Windows client in
Remote mode and his or her Master Mailbox shows the GroupWise components involved in the
process.
