To update firmware:
1. Connect the standard serial cable to the serial jack on the PC computer
and to the serial jack on the back panel of the switch.
2. Press Print Scrn to open the OSD menus.
3. Follow steps 4 through 6 if using the prompted input mode. Go to step 7
if using the single entry mode.

4. If C is the drive to which the file is saved, at the DOS prompt type:
C:\Update.exe
then press Enter.
5. At the prompt type the filename. The filename will have a .bin
extension. Press Enter.
6. At the prompt type the serial port number of the computer to which the
switch is attached. Press Enter.
If the data was typed correctly, a message appears on your computer
notifying you that the update for the switch is in process.
Go to step 8.
Single Entry
7. If C is the drive to which the file is saved, at the DOS prompt type:
C:\UPDATE.EXE filename port number
then press Enter.
If data was typed correctly, a message appears on the computer
notifying you that the update is in process.
8. Once the firmware is updated, a message displays:
100% Complete. Download completed successfully. Thank you for
using COMPAQ products.
The switch automatically reboots after the update is completed.
NOTE: If the update was unsuccessful (power outage, and so on), repeat the process.
