INTENDED USE
Install a PORTER-CABLE style guide bushing (sold
separately), use the centering pin to line-up the universal
router plate to the collet, install a bit and the bit will follow
the path intended by the template or jig.
ASSEMBLY
• Install a PORTER-CABLE style guide bushing (sold
separately) to the universal router plate.
• Remove the existing router plate and all related
hardware from the router.
• From the fastener package locate the machine screws
for your router.
• On the chart find the model and the corresponding letter
for your router.
• Find the corresponding letters for your router in
Figure 1. Use the universal router plate as a template
and mark the hole pattern on the router base plate with
a wax crayon or felt tip marker.
• Make sure the router has a 1/4" collet installed.
• Place the universal router plate onto the router and
line up the marked holes, install the machine screws
(selected earlier). DO NOT tighten.
• Insert the centering pin into the collet until it almost

• Adjust the router depth so the pin makes contact with
the centering pin. Tighten the machine screws.
NOTE: If the machine screws (supplied) bottom out into
the router mounting holes, they will need to be shortened
to match the router.
• Remove the centering pin and store it for future use.
The router is ready for use.
MAINTENANCE
• Carnauba wax may be applied to the universal router
plate to reduce scratching and make it slide easier. If
scratching does occur, carefully polish with plastic polish
until the scratches are removed.
