ENSURE THAT THE FOLLOWING PARTS HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
1 Tour-Pak® Lid Grip
YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
Set of combination wrenches
STEP 1 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park
the motorcycle on a hard, level surface and turn IGN OFF. Allow the engine and ex-
haust system to cool. Remove the main fuse.
STEP 2 Open the Tour-Pak® lid.
STEP 3 Refer to PIC 1. Note the position of the existing components before removing to make
reassembly easier. Remove the nut, lockwasher, cam hook, and cam washer; set them
aside for later use.
STEP 4 Refer to PIC 2. Use a 7/8" wrench to loosen and remove the large nut and lock guide;
save them for later use.
STEP 5 Remove the lock set and thin washer; ensure the Tour-Pak® lid is clean and dry.
STEP 6 Refer to PIC 3. Align the Tour-Pak® Lid Grip with the hole; insert the lock set with thin
washer through the Lid Grip and lid.
STEP 7 Refer to PIC 4. Reassemble the lid lock assembly in the reverse order it was removed.
STEP 8 Close the lid; ensure that the cam hook rotates all the way down and locks the lid.
Due to manufacturing tolerances some adjustment of the cam hook may be
necessary for the lock to function properly; follow the STEPS below if adjust-
ment is necessary.
STEP 9 Remove the nut, lockwasher, cam hook and cam washer. Remember the
orientation of the cam hook as it is removed.
STEP 10 Refer to PIC 5. Use two large adjustable wrenches to slightly bend the cam
lock. Reinstall the nut, lockwasher, cam hook, and cam washer; again, en-
sure that the cam lock engages and locks the lid; repeat STEP 10 if neces-
sary.
