Playing a Disc
This section shows you the basics on how to playa disc.

Preparations
• When you want to view a disc, turn on the TV and select the video input connected to the SD-H400.
• When you want to enjoy the sound of discs from the audio system, turn on the audio system and select the input connected to the SD-H400.
The SD-H400 turns on and the ON/STANDBY indicator
on the SD-H400 illuminates.

When the SD-H400 is turned on for the first time, an on-screen display
will appear to provide initial settings. You will need to complete the
Guided Setup which takes about I hour. (For more information about
connecting your SD-H400, see the Installation Guide.)
Once the TiVo Central screen appears, select DVD Player using the
... / .. buttons, then press the SELECT/ENTER button or press DVD
as in step 2.

Place a disc on the disc tray.

With the label side up.
• There are two different disc sizes. Place the disc in the correct guide on
the disc tray. If the disc is out of the guide, it may damage the disc and
cause the SD-H400 to malfunction.
• Do not place a disc which is unplayable in this SD-H400.
Press OPEN/CLOSE on the front panel to close the disc tray.

Press DVD to select DVD mode.
Press OPEN/CLOSE on the front panel.
If you insert a DVD video disc that contains a top menu, a menu may
appear. See "Locating a title using the top menu."

You may need to press the TOP M;ENU or MENU button to display disc
menu (depending on the actual DVD video disc.)
Note
If the disc tray contains a disc you have already played, playback will begin from
the location where you last stopped playback.
