Hardware Installation
This chapter describes the procedures for installing the . It contains the following sections:

Requirements
The following items are required to install a Intel® RAID Controller SRCS16:
Intel strongly recommends using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

Installation
This section provides detailed instructions for installing a RAID Controller SRCS16.
The following steps provide detailed installation instructions.
1) Unpack the RAID Controller SRCS16 and inspect it for damage.
2) Power down the system.
3) Configure the jumpers on the RAID Controller SRCS16.

Unpack and install the RAID controller in a static-free environment. Remove the RAID
controller from the anti-static bag and inspect it for damage. Contact your Intel support
representative if the RAID controller appears damaged.
Turn off the computer and physically remove the power cord from the back of the power
supply. Remove the cover from the computer chassis. Disconnect the system from any
networks.
Configure the jumper settings on the RAID controller. Chapter 3, "Intel® RAID
Controller SRCS16 Technical Reference," provides the jumper definitions and locations.
