NSTALLATION OF
The DMU-2000 Data Management Unit provides a Band Scope, Audio Scope, X-Y Oscilloscope, World Clock, Rotator
Control, extensive Transceiver Status Displays, and Station Logging Capability. These extensive functions are displayed on
a user-supplied computer monitor..
Installation of the SCOPE Unit
1. Turn the FT-950's [ POWER ] switch "off", and turn
off the external DC power supply.
2. Disconnect all the cables from the FT-950.
3. Referring to Figure 1, remove the 18 screws that at-
tach the bottom case, then remove the bottom case.
4. Refer to Figure 2 for the mounting location of the
SCOPE Unit. There is a disconnected 14-pin plug.
5. Mount the SCOPE Unit using the supplied four screws
(Figure 3).
6. Referring to Figure 3, plug the 14-pin plug which was
removed from the chassis in the previous step into the
J7002 connector on the SCOPE Unit.
7. Locate the Coaxial plug ( labeled
(J4006) on the LOCAL Unit. Unplug the Coaxial plug
( ) from the LOCAL Unit and plug it into the J7003
on the SCOPE Unit. Similarly, locate the Coaxial plug
( labeled ) installed in jack (J1029) on the MAIN
Unit. Unplug the Coaxial plug ( ) from the MAIN
Unit and plug it into the J7003 on the SCOPE Unit.
8. Referring to Figure 4, lay out the Coaxial cables into
the slits of the chassis.
9. Replace the bottom case and its 18 screws.
