INTENDED USE

router plate to the collet, install a bit and the bit will follow
the path intended by the template or jig.
ASSEMBLY
• Install a PORTER-CABLE style guide bushing (sold
separately) to the universal router plate.
• Remove the existing router plate and all related hardware
from the router.
• From the fastener package locate the machine screws for
your router.
• On the chart find the model and the corresponding letter
for your router.
• Find the corresponding letters for your router in Figure 1.
These letters are also printed on the router plate. NOTE:
Some routers have more than one option.
• Place the universal router plate onto the router and line
up the first letter with the appropriate hole and then rotate
the plate until all holes for the pattern line up. Install the
machine screws. DO NOT tighten.
• Make sure the router has a 1/4" collet installed.

contacts the guide bushing, tighten the collet.
• Adjust the router depth so the pin makes contact with the
centering pin. Tighten the machine screws.
NOTE: If the machine screws (supplied) bottom out into the
router mounting holes, they will need to be shortened to
match the router.
• Remove the centering pin and store it for future use. The
router is ready for use.
MAINTENANCE
• Carnauba wax may be applied to the universal router
plate to reduce scratching and make it slide easier. If
scratching does occur, carefully polish with plastic polish
until the scratches are removed.
