Basting Stitch

The basting stitch can be used to temporarily hold
together two or more layers of fabric. Use a fine needle
to avoid leaving permanent needle marks.
Select 030.
Lower the feed dog. Set foot pressure dial to 2
or 1. Loosen needle tension to 3.
The LCD screen will briefly show a message.
How To Attach Open Toe Embroidery/Darning Foot

Raise the needle and presser foot. Turn OFF power
switch. Loosen set screw q and remove shank. Place
the open toe embroidery/darning foot on the presser bar
with the pin w over the needle clamp screw e; tighten
set screw. Turn ON power switch.

Pull needle and bobbin threads behind the presser foot.
Place fabric under foot and lower presser foot. Start
machine. The machine will sew one stitch and stop.
Hold the fabric firmly and move it to the area for the next
stitch. Start machine.
Continue the procedure until all basting is complete.
CAUTION: Do not pull the fabric when sewing; the
