  • Page 3: The Led/Switch User Interface

    User Interface functionality is driven by the LED/Switch Controller Card, which mounts behind one of the display cards. The varieties of modules are as follows: • 4100-1288 LED/Switch Controller Card with mounting plate. • 4100-1289 LED/Switch Controller Card (no mounting plate; mounts on extra space of 4100-1288).
  • Page 4 The LED/Switch User Interface, Continued LED/Switch The LED/switch controller card is an FACP slave that is intended to mount behind a user interface Controller Card (UI) card. The LED/switch controller handles up to 64 switches and 64 LEDs on the UI cards and communicates their status to the FACP CPU.
  • Page 5 The LED/Switch User Interface, Continued LED/Switch If more than 64 LEDs or 64 switches are used, a second controller may be installed. Controller Card LED 1. This LED illuminates if communication loss between the controller and the CPU occurs. It is independent of jumper P1 (which configures different communication loss features). Display Cards All types of display cards are mounted to the front of a cabinet, and are connected to each other via a ribbon cable.

    Positions 2 and 3 activate the communication loss feature. Setting the 4100-1288/1289 LED/Switch Controller only. The controller device address is set via DIP switch Controller Address SW1, which is a bank of eight switches. From left to right (see Figure 2, below) these switches are designated as SW1-1 through SW1-8.

All display cards must be mounted to the front of a bay. • Changing Display Card LEDs. Yellow, green, and red replacement LEDs are available for customizing the LED pattern on a display card.

    Step 3: Interconnecting Cards User Interface wiring consists of connecting the LED/switch controller card to the Power Distribution Interface (PDI) and connecting display cards to each other. 1. Use Harness 734-008 to connect P2 on the controller card to one of the 4-pin connectors on the PDI.
