Setting the Scene

This camera function automatically adjusts the shutter speed and aperture to suit the
scene you are shooting or the purpose of the shot.
Your scene setting is retained even when you turn the camera off or the Auto power off
function is activated.

Set the camera to recording mode and move the OK
button to

Use the jog dial to select the desired scene icon and press
the OK button.
Flash Restrictions Imposed by Scene Settings

* If you change the scene setting, the flash reverts to the default setting.

Type of shot
For shots where the foreground subject stands out
clearly against a blurred background.
For situations involving fast-moving subjects such
as sporting events.
For situations where the background is dark, such
as fireworks and nighttime scenery.
For very bright situations such as at snowfields or at
the beach.
For shots where you want to make the subjects skin
tones paler.
For evening or sunset shots.
A list of scene icons appears.
