Configure the following for the new SNMP Community entry:
Parameter
Community Name
View Name
Access Right

SNMP Engine ID

The Engine ID is a unique identifier used for SNMP V3 implementations. This is an alphanumeric string used to identify the
SNMP engine on the Switch.
To change the Engine ID, type the new Engine ID in the space provided and click the Apply button.

Description
Type an alphanumeric string of up to 33 characters that is used to identify members of an
SNMP community. This string is used like a password to give remote SNMP managers
access to MIB objects in the Switch's SNMP agent.
Type an alphanumeric string of up to 32 characters that is used to identify the group of
MIB objects that a remote SNMP manager is allowed to access on the Switch. The view
name must exist in the SNMP View Table.
Use the pull-down menu to select the access right:
read_only − Specifies that SNMP community members using the community string
created with this command can only read the contents of the MIBs on the Switch.
read_write − Specifies that SNMP community members using the community string
created with this command can read from and write to the contents of the MIBs on the
Switch.
