Introduction The MIC-3840 is a standard 3U CPCI-S.0 form factor card featuring 8 ports for serial communication. It utilizes the EXAR XR17V358 PCIe controller, which acts as a sin- gle lane PCIe bridge connecting to 8 independently enhanced 16550 compatible UARTs.
Introduction MIC-3840 supports Windows and Linux. Tested on the OS below. Windows: Windows® 10, Windows® 11 Linux: Ubuntu 20.04 Windows Driver Setup Open Device Manager after turning on the computer. Jumper Settings The MIC-3840 supports RS-232/422/485 communication modes, which can be selected using the jumpers on the card. The corresponding chip on the card controls the serial port's operation mode. Currently, the chip is an F81435AN, and the opera- tion mode for each port can be controlled individually. The eight jumpers, labeled J_COM1 through J_COM8, allow you to select the operation mode for each of the 8 ports by adjusting the jumper settings accordingly.
