Furthermore, all users of the divator system must be adequately trained in its use by a certified scuba instructor with knowledge and experience in the use of the divator diving system.

For equipment used with Nitrox: The equipment must be used exclusively with Nitrox and should be kept O2 clean at all times.

    Divator full face mask and breathing valve Before use Visual inspection Check: the outer mask for ageing and damage, particularly in the area of thebuckles. Check: the inner mask for ageing and damage. Check: that the valve discs on the inner mask seal properly.

    Divator full face mask and breathing valve Check: the breathing valve for damage and that the mask connection O-ring orthe mouthpiece is securely in place. 10. Check: that the non-return valve disc in the breathing valve lies flat around thesealing surface.

Install the blank cover/microphone to lock the breathing valve in position. Hand tighten the screws securely without overtightening them. Check: that the locking ring is securely tightened.

    Divator full face mask and breathing valve Connect the breathing valve to the breathing hose. Hand tighten the nut securely. Donning Extend the head harness straps on the face mask as far as possible. Adjust the pressure equalizing pad to a position that permits both an eas yequalizing (clearing of ears) and unrestricted breathing through the nose.
  • Page 13 Divator full face mask and breathing valve Don the full face mask by grasping the lower two head harness straps and pullthe head harness over your head. Push the chin well into the chin cup of the mask. Pull down the back of the headharness as far as possible.
  • Page 14 Divator full face mask and breathing valve Warning Some neoprene hoods compress with increased diving depth. In these cases, readjusting the head harness straps will be necessary. Failure to do so may result in high CO2 levels which will increase the breathing rate, cause panic, and could lead to a fatal accident.

Check: that no leakage can be heard when holding your breath. Check: that a strong gas flow is heard when inserting two fingers between thesealing edge and the face.

    Divator full face mask and breathing valve During use Extreme conditions Diving in extreme conditions, such as diving in cold environments, requires special training, planning and preparation. Refer to the separate instruction with document number 34228, available on the download section of interspiro.com, for more information.

Free flow of gas from the full face mask In case of free flow of gas into or from the full face mask, the following procedure is recommended: Keep the mask on and continue breathing.

    Divator full face mask and breathing valve After use Cleaning Remove the blank cover/microphone by unscrewing the two hand screws. Remove the breathing valve by turning it clockwise. Pressurize the apparatus. Rinse the full face mask and the breathing valve in clean freshwater. If the equipment is very dirty, use a brush and a neutral cleaning agent.

    Allow all parts to dry completely. Extended cleaning / disinfection Interspiro recommends that full face masks and breathing valves used by more than one person are cleaned and disinfected after each use. For Divator breathing valves used with Nitrox: The disassembly, cleaning and assembly shall be made using gloves in a clean environment suitable for Oxygen service.
  • Page 20 Divator full face mask and breathing valve Turn the locking ring counterclockwise and remove it. Remove the exhalation unit. Press on the threads on the cover and remove the diaphragm assembly. Disassemble the diaphragm assembly. Lift the sealing spring with guide disc out of the cover.
  • Page 21 Divator full face mask and breathing valve Remove the valve insert. Carefully wipe the valve insert with a soft lint free cloth. Warning Never angle the lever more than 50 degrees as this may damage the contact surfaces on the lever support.

Notice Hold a thumb on the non-return valve in the breathing valve to keep it in place during washing. Warning The valve insert assembly shall not be washed with water!
