Upgrade Guide

Stop the IBM Lotus Domino server

You stop the IBM® Lotus® Domino® server so that the running process does not interfere with the upgrade process.
1.
Log in to the server that hosts the BlackBerry® Professional Software using an administrative account with the
appropriate database permissions.
2.
Perform one of the following actions:
• If you are running the IBM Lotus Domino server as a Windows® service, in the Windows Services, stop the IBM Lotus
Domino server, and change the Startup Type to Manual.
• If you are running the IBM Lotus Domino server as an application, in the IBM Lotus Domino console, type the following
command:
tell bes quit
Upgrade from the BlackBerry Professional Software to the BlackBerry
Enterprise Server on the existing host computer
During the upgrade process, you must restart the computer. The restart can take several minutes.
Before you begin:
In the Windows® Services, stop the BlackBerry® Professional Software services.
Stop the IBM® Lotus® Domino® server. If the IBM Lotus Domino server is running as a Windows service, change the
Startup Type to Manual.
1.
Log in to the computer that you plan to use to host the BlackBerry Enterprise Server using an administrative account
with the appropriate database permissions.
2.
On the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server installation media, double-click the setup.exe file.
3.
Complete the instructions on the screen.
4.
When prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
5.
Log in to the computer using the account that you used in step 1.
6.
Complete the instructions on the screen.
7.
Start the IBM Lotus Domino server.
