Consoles can be used without an internet connection, but to get the best use of the included features and receive important software updates, Matrix recommends connecting the console to the internet. Internet connections are typically established during initial console setup, but if the network changes or the console becomes disconnected, it can be reconnected.

Table of Contents Preparing a USB Drive To prepare a USB drive for use with Matrix equipment, you must first “format” it. This operation configures the drive filesystem and clears all data, ensuring there is adequate space for console files.
General button. Internet/RSCU update Matrix cardio equipment can communicate with a central server known as “Remote Software Console Update”, or RSCU. When properly configured, consoles can download software from this server to update. You can set up the console to automatically check for updates daily, or check for updates on command, when needed.
The console will update all software packages available. The console may reboot multiple times while installing updates – power cycling manually during this time should be avoided.
