To put your handheld into storage mode
1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.
Click Storage Mode. The following message appears: Storage mode powers
off device to save battery life. Continue?. Click Yes.
2. The following message appears: Entering storage mode will lose current
time. Continue?. Click Yes.
3. The following message appears: To restart device, perform a hardware reset.
Continue?. Click Yes.
4. The following message appears: Do you wish to enter storage mode?. Click
Yes.
Your handheld shuts down and, after approximately 24 hours, enters a special
storage state. You should store your handheld in a cool, dry place. When you
press any keys or click the trackwheel while your handheld is in this state, it does
not respond.
To activate your handheld from storage mode
1. To activate your handheld from storage mode, insert it into the charging
cradle and connect the cradle to an electrical outlet. Your handheld restarts
and, after a few moments, the Home screen appears.
2. A dialog box appears on your screen prompting you to confirm the current
date and time. If the date and time are correct, click OK.
Note: If the date and time are incorrect, click Edit. The Date/Time screen appears and
you can correct the settings for your handheld.
3. Turn on the handheld radio. On the Home screen, click the Turn Wireless On
icon.
4. Confirm that your handheld is fully charged before you use it again. Refer to
the Getting Started Guide that is included in your package for more
information on charging.
Note: You can also activate your handheld from storage mode by inserting a paper clip
into the reset hole located on the back of your handheld. Verify that your handheld is
fully charged before using it again.
