SAVING IMAGES - FILE FORMATS

From the image panel, you can save the displayed image to your
hard disk or removable media in one of the following file formats.
PICT
The PICT graphic file format uses a lossless compression scheme
and is compatible with many Macintosh applications.
JPEG
The JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) compression
standard is capable of producing a high compression ratio while
maintaining image quality. JPEG is a widely supported image file
format.
EXIF
The EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) format is commonly
used with digital cameras and removable media. This is the file
format the Dimâge V uses to store images.
TIFF
TIFF (Tag Image File Format) files contain bit mapped data.
. Images copied from the image memory card using the viewer
panel are automatically saved as EXIF files (pp. 24-27).
. Adobe PhotoDeluxe™ is compatible with PICT, JPEG, TIFF,
BMP, GIF, Photoshop 2.0, and Photoshop 3.0 file formats.
However, the Dimâge V EXIF files can be acquired or captured
directly from the camera through PhotoDeluxe™ with the use of
the QTIC plug-in (p. 85).
