Recharging the Battery

Your camera contains a non-removable lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Simply remove the side USB cover, plug the smaller end of the included USB plug into the camera port and the larger end into a USB charger. Charge your camera for at least 2 hours.

Paper+Ink Cartridge

Your camera includes a 10-paper cartridge. Insert the paper+ink cartridge as shown. The cartridge can only be inserted in one way.

Shooting and Printing a Photo

Shooting and Printing a Photo

  1. Power your camera on by pressing the power button.
  2. Use the LCD viewfinder to aim on your subject and press the Shutter button to capture a photo. Be sure to hold the camera steady when capturing a photo in order to minimize blurriness.
  3. If you are satisfied with the photo, press the Print button. If you'd like to cancel and reshoot a new photo, press the Cancel button.
  4. After shooting a photo, you may use the Left and Right buttons to increase or decrease the amount of photo copies you'd like to print.
  • Please allow 10-15 seconds for your first print to begin when starting your camera for the first time or after inserting a new cartridge.
  • Photos are not saved on the camera. In order to save a captured photo, connect the camera to your smartphone and transfer the photo via the Minolta Instapix smartphone app.

  1. Menu button: Select from Borders, Filters, Flash, or Self-timer
  2. Print button: Select to print the image captured and displayed on the LCD viewfinder
  3. Arrow button: Use to move left in the menu selections
  4. Arrow button: Use to move right in the menu selections
  5. OK: Use to confirm a setting or menu selection
  6. USB Port: Plug in to recharge battery
  7. Red LED: Charging in progress
    Green LED: Charging complete
  8. Reset button: Press with a thin, pointy object if your camera becomes unresponsive
  1. Borderless (default): Prints a full sheet photo.
  2. Border: Adds a thick border around the photo.
  3. Monochrome/Normal: Change from color to a black & white photo.
  4. Filter: Enabling a photo filter for when capturing a photo. Select from: Normal (default), Sketch, Sepia, Aqua1, Aqua1.
  5. Flash: Set the flash to off, on or automatic.
  6. Self-timer: For easy selfies, enables or disables the 5-second self-timer.

Smartphone App Installation

  1. Go to the Google Play Store or iOS App Store on your smartphone.

  1. Search for "Minolta Instapix".
  2. Download and launch the app once installation is complete.

Bluetooth Connection

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  2. Power your camera on.
  3. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone and select "MINOLTA-XXXX" ('XXXX' represent digits based on the serial number and varies for each camera).
  4. Once the Bluetooth connection is established, the Bluetooth LED on your camera will illuminate in green.

Printing a Photo From Your Smartphone

  1. Ensure that your camera and smartphone are connected.
  2. Launch the "Minolta Instapix" app from your smartphone.
  3. On the app, select the Gallery option.
  4. Select a photo from one of the folders on your smartphone photo library.
  5. Once you select a photo, you can edit it by tapping the Edit button.
  6. Once you are ready to print, tap the Print button in the top right corner.
  • Do not exit or close the app until your photo has completed the printing process. Doing so may cancel the print job and not complete your printing job.

Notes

  • The photo paper will retract in and out 4 times (Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Laminate Overcoat). For the best image quality, do not touch the paper until the printing process is complete.
  • Do not pull the paper out by force until printing is completed.
  • Do not place any objects in front of the paper exit slot.
  • Be sure to check the app store for the latest app version and firmware versions available for download.
  • The camera has a built-in, non-removable battery. Be sure to charge it before use
  • Handle with care during charging to prevent electric shock.
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair. Doing so may void warranty.
  • Avoid extremely high or low temperatures. Operating temperature should stay between 32~104 degrees F.
  • A higher resolution photo will produce a higher print photo quality. The minimum recommended image pixel size is 1280x2448 pixels.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause / Solution
Paper jam Power off and on again. Paper will be automatically ejected. If not, replace the old cartridge with a new cartridge.
Image quality is unclear or blurry Hold the camera steady and capture a new photo.

Camera is not responding. Reset the camera with a pointy object.
