When to apply oil type changing guidelines
For all chillers using R-134a or R-513A:
Application requirements for these refrigerants lists two different oil types:

K
To avoid contaminating the new oil when changing between YORK brand H with K oil, follow all steps in
Draining, flushing, and handling refrigerant for the oil
For all chillers using R-1234ze or R-515B:
Application requirements for these refrigerants lists three different oil types:
•
H
•
J
•
AA
To avoid contaminating the new oil when changing between YORK brand H, J, or AA oil, follow all steps
in
Draining, flushing, and handling refrigerant for the oil
For all chillers using R-22 or R-717:
Application requirements for these refrigerants lists two different oil types:
•
C
•
F
To avoid contaminating the new oil when changing between YORK brand C and F oil, follow all steps in
Draining, flushing, and handling refrigerant for the oil
For all chillers using R-123:
Use only YORK brand C oil.
Note: This eliminates the need to conduct the system draining, flushing, and refrigerant
handling requirements.
For all chillers using R-12 or R-500:
Use only YORK brand B oil.
Note: This eliminates the need to conduct the system draining, flushing, and refrigerant
handling requirements.
