Introduction

Printer Port

The 25-pin printer port provides a parallel interface to connect a parallel printer or pocket
network adapter. Many operating systems and software applications refer to this port as
LPT1. You can run the BIOS Setup program to change the configuration of the parallel
port to Standard or Bi-directional.

Serial Port (COM1)

The 9-pin serial port provides a serial interface for a RS-232C device such as external serial
modem. This port is commonly referred to as COM1.

Bottom of the Notebook

The bottom of the New Versa 2500 computer contains the release latches shown in the fol-
lowing figure. Pressing the release latch lets you remove the option installed in the corre-
sponding bay.

NOTE: First power off the system before con-
necting an external serial device. After turning on
the power again, run the BIOS Setup program if
needed.
