Installation, Operation, and Maintenance Manual Introduction ES-08436-1 May 19, 2022 Introduction Operation Overview The TopWorx DX PST with HART® 7 principal application is for use on emergency shutdown valves. The system controls and monitors shutdown valves. Single or redundant dual pilot valves/SOV’s (Solenoid Operated Valves), along with embedded microprocessor circuitry and sensors, are utilized to provide a full range of valve control and diagnostics.

It is capable of both analog and digital signaling. The transmitter, DD (Device Descriptions) and FDI Package are registered with FieldComm Group™ and supports latest HART protocol.

The position sensor is set at the factory. Make sure that the red dot on the position sensor does not start or rotate in the red dead band area once mounted to an actuator.

Each pilot/SOV circuit is electrically isolated and can be powered by single or dual power supplies for increased safety.

Configuration and calibration can be done either at the device or remotely (Examples: Control System, AMS, HART Communicator). Activation of the PST can be done at the device utilizing the optional PST switch (see section 4.5 Local Partial Stroke Activation), through the menu on the LCD display or via HART at the control system or field communicator.
