and slide the rails toward the front of the chassis until
the mounting posts snap into place. See
Test the two rack stops on each chassis rail. The stops
must be pressed when sliding the appliance all the way
into the rack on the slide rails.
Set the appliance aside in a safe location.
2. Attach the two outer slide rails to a four-post equipment
rack:
Insert the front bracket into the rack post holes while open-
ing and then releasing the front latch. See
Extend the back bracket rearward and insert it into the
rack post holes while opening and then releasing the
back latch.
3. Inspect the installed slide rails:
Verify that the slide rails are even and installed at the
same level in the equipment rack.
Make sure that the slide rails are free of defects and dam-
age. Make sure that there is no debris in the slide rails.
Extend and retract the slide rails to verify smooth oper-
ation and slide-stop operation.
4. Insert the appliance into the equipment rack.
Align the inner rails attached to the chassis with the
outer slide rails installed in the equipment rack, and
gently slide the appliance half-way into the rack.
Press the release tabs on the chassis rails to slide the
appliance all the way into the rack. See
5. Verify the slide-rail operation:
Press the release tabs on the chassis rails to lock and
unlock the appliance in place.
Push and pull the appliance to the verify smooth move-
ment across the entire slide range.
Carefully pull out the appliance all the way to verify the
slide-stop functionality.
6. Push the appliance all the way into the rack and tighten
the captive thumbscrews on the rack ears to secure the
appliance from sliding out of the rack.
7. Verify that the appliance is securely installed in the
equipment rack.
8. Reconnect the cables as documented in
nect
Cables, and verify the appliance is functioning as in
Section 4, Power On the Appliance and Verify the
