4. When prompted, specify the following addresses for the
appliance: IP address, IP subnet mask, IP gateway,
and DNS server.
5. When prompted, specify the console password and
CLI enable password.
6 — Configure Date/Time, Local
Users, and Management Network
To configure settings for the Date/Time, Local Users, and
Management Network:
1. Open a browser and enter the IP address and port num-
ber for the appliance. For example, an IP address of
192.168.2.42 with a port number of 8082 would be:
https://192.168.2.42:8082
2. When prompted, enter the default Username (admin)
and Password (admin). The WebUI window opens.
3. Configure the Date/Time:
Select Platform Management > Date/Time.
On the Date/Time panel, click the Edit (pencil icon) button.
In the Edit Date/Time dialog, enter the Date, Time,
and Timezone for the appliance.
NOTE: When the Timezone is set to NTP, the Date and
Time fields are unavailable. To use NTP, select the de-
fault primary and second servers, or define your own.
Click OK to save the date and time settings. When
prompted to confirm the changes, click Apply.
4. Add a Local User:
Select Platform Management > Authentication.
On the Authentication panel, click Local Users.
On the User Management panel, click Add (plus icon)
button to add a new user.
In the Add Users dialog, enter the User ID, Roles, and
Password for the new user.
Click OK to save the new user. When prompted to con-
firm the changes, click Apply.
5. Configure the Management Network:
Select Platform Management > Management Network.
On the Management Network panel, click the Edit
(pencil icon) button.
In the Edit Management Network dialog, enter the set-
tings for MTU, Hostname, and Nameservers (Primary,
Secondary, and Tertiary).
Click OK to save the network settings. When prompted
to confirm the changes, click Apply.
NOTE: For more information on configuring appliance set-
tings, refer to the SSL Visibility Admin Guide, available at
techdocs.broadcom.com.
7 — License the Appliance
SSL Visibility appliances must be licensed for full functional-
ity. To license the appliance, you need:
The appliance serial number
A user account for the Broadcom Support portal
To license the appliance:
1. Download the license:
Go to support.broadcom.com, click Login, and when
prompted, enter your Username and Password.
Click My Entitlements.
Search for the appliance you want to license by enter-
ing its Serial Number, Site ID, or Email.
When the appliance appears, click the Download icon
in the License column.
Save the license file on a system that you can access
from the SSL Visibility appliance.
2. Open a browser and enter the IP address and port num-
ber for the appliance. For example, an IP address of
192.168.2.42 with a port number of 8082 would be:
https://192.168.2.42:8082
3. When prompted, enter the default Username (admin)
and Password (admin). The WebUI window opens.
4. Select (Platform Management) > License.
5. On the License tab, click the Add (plus icon) button.
6. In the Install License dialog, use one of the following
options to install the license:
On the Upload License tab, click Browse to locate and
select the license file.
On the Paste License tab, paste in text that has been
copied from an exported license.
On the License from URL tab, enter the URL to down-
load the license file from a web server.
On the BTO Install tab, install the license file directly
from the portal.
7. Click Add. A confirmation message indicates that all
standard SSL Visibility features are now operational.
Reboot the appliance when prompted.
