1 — Unpack the Appliance
Unpack the shipping package for the appliance and verify it
includes the following contents:
SV-S550 appliance
(2) AC power cords
RJ45 to DB9 null modem serial cable
Rack-mount slide-rail kit
Rack-mount ears with fasteners
Accessing Appliance Documentation
Software License Agreement
Hardware Warranty Information

2 — Install Network Interface
Cards
SV-S550 appliances include two PCIe riser cards. The large
PCIe riser card has three half-height slots (3, 4, and 5) and
two full-height slots (6 and 7) option cards. The small PCIe
riser card has one half-height slot (8). The riser cards must
be removed to install option cards in them. Make sure to ver-
ify that your appliance supports the option card before in-
stalling it. For a list of supported option cards and installation
