Perform the following steps to check the IQ Battery SoC:
a) Press the Access Point, that is, the AP mode button on the IQ Gateway. The AP
mode LED should light up green in color.
b) Connect your phone to the IQ Gateway's Wi-Fi network.
c)
Open the Enphase Installer App and navigate to the recovered site.
d)
Go to Devices and Array > IQ Battery > <serial number of IQ Battery being
recovered> Check the SoC.
e) Repeat steps b and c for each IQ Battery unit you are charging.
If charging during the daytime with good irradiance, one can stop charging batteries
when they reach 20% SoC. IQ Batteries can charge further from solar power.
14. Turn on one of the 20 A PV circuit breakers inside the IQ Combiner box.
Turn on one PV circuit breaker inside the IQ Combiner box to charge the batteries from
PV production.
PV production can contribute to recovering the batteries, but it can change drastically
depending on weather conditions. Relying excessively on PV production may lead to a
microgrid collapse due to generator overload when PV generation suddenly drops or
back-feed when there is excessive PV production.
At this point, the DC switches for the IQ Battery units that have finished charging to the
desired level must be turned off.
Repeat the process for the next set of batteries to charge and recover the SoC.
15. After the needed IQ Batteries have been charged, disconnect and turn off the generator.
Turn off the engine switch on the generator.
NOTE
recovered; failing to do so might leave the system stuck in a non-recoverable state.
If this happens, contact
Turn off the fuel valve on the generator.
Disconnect the generator extension cord from the L14-30R receptacle on the generator.
Measure the voltage of the generator connection point to the IQ System Controller. The
measured voltage should be zero volts.
WARNING: Do not touch the prongs of the L14-30P plug on the generator
extension cord. Measure the L1 to L2 voltage on the generator lugs. Ensure the
reading shows no voltage and that the lugs are de-energized before moving to the
next step.
16. Restore the system to the normal operating state.
Turn off all PV breakers inside the IQ Combiner box, or ensure they are all turned off.
Turn off the DC switches on all IQ Batteries.
If there is an Enphase RSD switch, ensure it is turned off.
At this point, the microgrid will collapse. Measure the load center voltage. The measured
voltage should be zero volts.
Disconnect the generator L1, L2, neutral, and ground wires from the IQ System Controller.
Move consumption CTs to their original location, between the meter and the
IQ System Controller or the meter and the main panel.
Remove the L1 and L2 wires from the 2-pole generator breaker installed in
within the IQ System Controller, and tuck them into the original/shipping position. Then,
remove the generator breaker from the IQ System Controller's generator breaker slot.

NOTE: If charging is happening in poor irradiance or at nighttime, one can stop
charging batteries when SoC is higher than 75% or preferably wait until the
batteries are fully charged, that is, are at 100% SoC.
