Turn on the PV branch circuit breakers inside the AC/IQ Combiner or solar aggregation
subpanel.
If IQ Batteries were charged to 15% SoC:
a) Open the Live Status in the Enphase Installer App and check that the PV is producing,
and the batteries are charging.
b) Wait until batteries reach SoC higher than 75%, or preferably wait until the batteries
are fully charged at 100% SoC.
Turn on the utility side breaker or disconnect, as described in
meter into the meter socket if the meter was pulled out.
16. The home should now operate in a microgrid with fully functional IQ Batteries. (If grid power has not
returned).
Verify the loads using the Live Status screen in the Enphase Installer App.
Discuss with the homeowner whether the system can supply their loads through the
night and retain more than 10% SoC to ensure it starts charging from PV the next day.
Ensure the owner knows the system's capacity and adjusts their consumption habits to
use power judiciously during a sustained outage.
Recovery via the generator lugs of IQ System Controller
There is another method for battery state of charge recovery of Ensemble systems. In this method, a
portable generator is connected to the generator lugs of the IQ System Controller.
In this method, both generator power and available PV power are used to charge the batteries, which
means faster recovery of the state of charge of the batteries. This is the advantage of this method.
However, to use this method, the IQ System Controller must support generator integration, which means
that the IQ System Controller must have dedicated generator lugs.
dedicated generator lugs in the IQ System Controller, based on the type/SKU of the IQ System Controller.
In addition, to use this method, the system eSW must be 7.03.XXX and above. To determine the system's
eSW, see the following instructions.
System eSW information is present in the Enphase Installer Portal GW device section.
example of identifying the eSW version by entering the Enphase Installer Portal devices section and
checking IQ Gateway information. In the provided example, the eSW version is 7.3.120.
NOTE
:
Most backup systems in the field have an eSW higher than 7.03.xx.
