leaving screw heads protruding 1/16".
• Attach wires to speaker terminals.
• Let speaker slide straight down, allowing
screw head to slip behind the smaller end
of the keyhole slot.
• Tug gently on the speaker to make sure
that the screws and bracket are properly
aligned and that the wall anchors
are secure.
• If the bracket is not held snug against the
wall by the screw heads, remove the
speaker from the wall, drive the screws
in further and remount the speaker.
• In the unlikely event that the supplied
wall mount brackets do not allow the
mounting angle which meets your needs,
you may use optional, fully articulating
"ball and socket" type mounting brackets,
available at your Polk dealer.
R O TATING THE BRACKET (M SURROUND
SPEAKERS IN RM5400 SYSTEM)
To change the position of the bracket to allow
different mounting angles, simply hold the
speaker cabinet with one hand while rotating
the bracket with the other. You will hear
clicking as you change the orientation. See
Figure 5.
WALL MOUNTING
The M Series speakers are supplied with
wall mounting brackets. Follow the steps
below to safely secure the brackets
and speakers.
Wall or ceiling installation of M Series speak-
ers requires basic skills in using tools such
as a drill and screwdriver. If you are in doubt
that you possess the necessary skills or
tools, consult your Polk dealer or a profes-

abrazadera al altoparlante utilizando los
tornillos provistos para este fin (Figura 4).
Si el altoparlante va a ser instalado derecho
(con el altoparlante de tonos agudos en la
parte superior), instale las abrazaderas de
modo que la parte más pequeña de las
ranuras quede para arriba. Si el altopar-
lante va a ser instalado al revés, (altopar-
lante de tonos agudos en la parte inferior),
haga girar la abrazadera de forma que la
parte más pequeña de la ranura quede
para abajo.
• Si Ud. está seguro de que existe un poste
detrás de la superficie de la pared, atornille
al poste y a través de la pared los tornillos
que vienen incluidos.
• Si no existe un poste detrás de la pared en
el lugar escogido, instale anclas para pared
# 10 (que no vienen incluidas) siguiendo la
instrucciones del fabricante. Siempre utilice
dos anclas y tornillos con cada altoparlante.
• Inserte los tornillos en la pared o en
las anclas dejando que las cabezas
sobresalgan 1/16(.16cm) de pulgada.
• Conecte los cables a las terminales de
los altoparlantes.
• Coloque los altoparlantes de tal manera que
las cabezas de los tornillos pasen a través
de la ranura central más grande de
la abrazadera.
• Deje que el altoparlante resbale hacia abajo,
permitiendo que la cabeza del tornillo entre
detrás de la abertura pequeña de la ranura.
• Cuidadosamente jale el altoparlante para
asegurarse que los tornillos y abrazadera
estén alineados apropiadamente y que las
anclas de pared estén firmes.
• Si el altoparlante no está sostenido por los
tornillos apretadamente contra la pared,
quite el altoparlante, atornille aún más los
tornillos y vuelva a instalar
los altoparlantes.
• Si la improbable situación ocurriese de que
las abrazaderas que vienen incluidas no
giren hasta el ángulo que Ud. necesite,
entonces podría utilizar las abrazaderas
opcionales de "bola y hueco" que están
disponibles en su concesionario Polk.
